The AVU has published 66 policy briefs on its website (https://www.avu.org/avuweb/publications/) that have been sponsored by the African Development Bank. The AVU policy briefs focus on a wide range of ODeL topics including infrastructure, mobile learning, virtual laboratories, learner needs and open education resources (OER). The research studies presented at the International Conferences of the AVU have provided a useful resource for the content of some of the policy briefs. Moving on, the AVU will continue to develop and publish more policy briefs based on its experiences in the design, delivery and implementation of ODeL programs and activities. The AVU policy briefs are useful to researchers, university academics, policymakers, vice-chancellors, deputy vice-chancellors, ministries of education, national regulatory authorities and practitioners seeking to make sense of the challenges and explore emerging opportunities afforded by ICTs and open, distance and e-learning (ODeL) in addressing the persistent issues of expanding access and improving quality and relevance of higher education and training in Africa.
