The Rector of the African Virtual University, Dr. Bakary Diallo, will speak at the global health education and Technology Summit starting today 6, February 2013 at the United Nations in New York. Dr Diallo will speak at a plenary session on Distance learning platforms that will focus on what is necessary to optimize distance education platforms to support the education of HCWs in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
The two-day summit will bring together leaders of health and research on health, education and to discuss and develop initiatives to empower providers in the communities of more limited resources in the world. There will be four plenary discussions, a lunch Keynote with Jeffrey Sachs, a series of breakout sessions targeting the issues at hand and a special Ministerial Forum with representatives from Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Norway.
